  • Relevance

    CXCL5: Involved in neutrophil activation. In vitro, ENA-78(8-78) and ENA-78(9-78) show a threefold higher chemotactic activity for neutrophil granulocytes. CXCL6: Chemotactic for neutrophil granulocytes. Signals through binding and activation of its receptors (CXCR1 and CXCR2). In addition to its chemotactic and angiogenic properties, it has strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (90-fold-higher when compared to CXCL5 and CXCL7).

  • Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Human colonic carcinoma tissue labeling CXCL5 + CXCL6 with ab198505 at 1/100 dilution followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HRP) (ab97051) at 1/500 dilution and counter-stained with Hematoxylin.

    Inset image: negative control obtained using PBS instead of ab198505 and secondary antibody only.
    Note: Cytoplasm staining on human colonic carcinoma tissue was observed.

    Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

  • CXCL5 + CXCL6 was immunoprecipitated from 1mg of A549 (Human lung carcinoma cell line) whole cell extract with ab198505 at 1/40 dilution. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab198505 at 1/1000 dilution (lanes 1 and 2). Anti-Rabbit IgG (HRP), specific to the non-reduced form of IgG, was used as secondary antibody at 1/1500 dilution.

    Lane 1: Input A549 whole cell extract (10µg). 

    Lane 2: A549 whole cell extract.

    Lane 3: Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab198505 in A549 (Human lung carcinoma) whole cell extract
    Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration: 5% NFDM/TBST.
