RelevanceCYPIVF11 is a member of the cytochrome P450 family of cytochrome monooxidases that catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. CYP4F11 has catalytic properties towards endogenous eicosanoids as well as some clinically relevant drugs, and is able to metabolize large molecules such as erythromycin.
