DoubleStain IHC Kit: R&Rt on human/mouse tissue (DAB & AP/Red)
  • Assay type
    Polymer Multiplex
  • Product overview

Abcam's Doublestain IHC Kit (ab183283) is designed for use with user supplied rabbit and rat primary antibodies to detect two distinct antigens on human and mouse tissue or cell samples. This kit has been tested on paraffin embedded tissue, however, it can also be used to stain frozen specimens and freshly prepared monolayer cell smears.

Double staining is a common method used in immunohistostaining, allowing for the detection of two distinct antigens in a single tissue. This kit supplies the user with two polymer enzyme conjugates: Rat HRP polymer (minimal cross reaction to mouse) and Rabbit AP polymer with two distinct substrates/chromogens, DAB and Permanent Red. DAB chromogen reacts with the Rat HRP Polymer to produce a brown color. Permanent Red reacts with Rabbit AP Polymer to produce a red color. Abcam's Doublestain IHC Kit (ab183283) is a non-biotin system avoiding the extra steps involved in blocking non-specific binding due to endogenous biotin.

Customer reviews and Q&As

DAB worked fine, AP/Red did not

Below average Excellent 5/5 (Ease of Use)
Abreviews
The reagents for the DAB protocol worked fine, but the AP/Red reagents never successfully produced any staining, above a very weak pink, even in positive control slides.
