      On mitogenic stimulation, phosphorylated on C-terminal serine and threonine residues by MAPK1. Ser-383 and Ser-389 are the preferred sites for MAPK1. In vitro, phosphorylation by MAPK1 potentiates ternary complex formation with the serum responses factors, SRE and SRF. Phosphorylation leads to loss of sumoylation and restores transcriptional activator activity.

    • Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human prostate nodular hyperplasia tissue stained for ELK1 using ab245496 at 1/1000 dilution in immunohistochemical analysis. Detection: DAB staining.

    • Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human breast carcinoma tissue stained for ELK1 using ab245496 at 1/1000 dilution in immunohistochemical analysis. Detection: DAB staining.

    • ELK1 was immunoprecipitated from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab245496 at 6 µg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using a different Anti-ELK1 antibody at 1 µg/ml.
