Potent histone acetyltransferase p300 and PCAF inhibitor (IC₅₀ values are 7 and 5 μM for p300 and PCAF respectively). Pleiotropic agent. Strongly inhibits chromatin transcription and induces apoptosis. Inhibits histone acetylation in vivo. Antioxidant and chemoprotective agent.
