Biological description

Near-infrared probe for imaging of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer's disease. DANIR 2c analog that shows extended emission wavelength and significant reduced binding affinity to Aβ aggregates compared with DANIR 2c. In vivo imaging studies suggest that MCAAD-3 can penetrate the blood–brain barrier and label Aβ plaques in the brains of transgenic mice.
