Biological description

Pimasertib (AS-703026) is a potent and selective ATP non-competitive inhibitor of MEK1 and MEK2. It displays an IC₅₀ of 5 nM-2 μM in multiple myeloma cell lines. Growth and survival of U-266 and INA-6 is inhibited with IC₅₀ of 5 nM and 11 nM, respectively. Induces apoptosis via caspase-3 and PARP cleavage in multiple myeloma cells. Inhibits the ERK pathway, proliferation, and transformation in human DLD-1 colorectal cancer cells what carry the D-MUT mutant allele of K-Ras.
