HCAP-D3 also known as chromosome-associated protein D3 or CAP-D3 plays a role in the regulation of chromatid structure during cell division. With a molecular mass of approximately 160 kDa this protein is a component of the condensin II complex. hCAP-D3 is expressed in various tissues throughout the body prominently in cells that are dividing.
