Function

Participates in at least several B-cell activation processes as well as of other cell types. It is a costimulator of DNA-synthesis. It induces the expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells. It enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1. It also regulates the expression of the low affinity Fc receptor for IgE (CD23) on both lymphocytes and monocytes. Positively regulates IL31RA expression in macrophages. Stimulates autophagy in dendritic cells by interfering with mTORC1 signaling and through the induction of RUFY4.

Notes

Feline IL-4 ELISA Kit (ab273226) is an in-vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Feline IL-4 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Feline IL-4 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Feline IL-4 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-Feline IL-4 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Feline IL-4 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
