Sandwich ELISA - Human Acetylcholinesterase ELISA Kit - Extracellular (AB318934)
Interpolated concentrations of human Acetylcholinesterase in plasma (EDTA) in 96-well vs. 384-well plates. Interpolated concentration of native Acetylcholinesterase was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations in 96-well vs. 384-well plates. Undiluted samples are 50% or plasma (EDTA). The interpolated dilution factor corrected values to neat sample are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Sandwich ELISA - Human Acetylcholinesterase ELISA Kit - Extracellular (AB318934)
Interpolated concentrations of Acetylcholinesterase in normal human serum donors. Serum of ten individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Acetylcholinesterase concentration was determined to be 3,863 pg/mL with a range of 2,902 – 5,543 pg/mL.

Product details
Human Acetylcholinesterase SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Acetylcholinesterase protein in Serum, Cit Plasma, EDTA Plasma, Hep Plasma, Cell culture media, Cerebral Spinal Fluid. Quantitate Human Acetylcholinesterase with 20.314 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips, available in 10-pack (10 x 96-well plates)
-Also available in a fully validated 384-well format.

Biological function summary
Acetylcholinesterase is essential for maintaining neurotransmission dynamics by ensuring timely acetylcholine breakdown. It does not function as part of a larger enzyme complex but its activity is necessary for efficient synaptic signaling in the nervous system. This enzymatic action prevents continuous stimulation of muscles and nerves by rapidly degrading acetylcholine thereby ensuring proper muscle contraction and cognitive processes.
Pathways
Acetylcholinesterase participates significantly in the cholinergic system. It influences cholinergic signaling pathways by inactivating acetylcholine after its release into the synaptic cleft. This function aligns acetylcholinesterase closely with receptors like nicotinic and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. It indirectly affects signal transduction pathways that involve these receptors with potential downstream effects on ion channels and intracellular messengers.
