Human Adiponectin ELISA Kit, Chemiluminescent is a 55-min single-wash SimpleStep Ignite™ ELISA for the rapid quantification of Human Adiponectin with higher sensitivity and broader measuring range.

Serum of eight female individual healthy human donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). Adiponectin concentration for female serum samples was determined to be 7467 ng/mL with a range of 3452 – 14981 ng/mL.

Interpolated concentration of native Adiponectin was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 1 : 3333 serum plasma (citrate) plasma (EDTA) and plasma (heparin). The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

How the assay works
Human Adiponectin ELISA Kit, Chemiluminescent (ab327322) SimpleStep Ignite™ ELISA employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step during a 30 min only incubation, significantly reducing assay time. By utilizing a chemiluminscent detection method this improves the sensitivity and dynamic range when compared to traditional colorimetric ELISAs.

Important adipokine involved in the control of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, with direct anti-diabetic, anti-atherogenic and anti-inflammatory activities. Stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in the liver and the skeletal muscle, enhancing glucose utilization and fatty-acid combustion. Antagonizes TNF by negatively regulating its expression in various tissues such as liver and macrophages, and also by counteracting its effects. Inhibits endothelial NF-kappa-B signaling through a cAMP-dependent pathway. May play a role in cell growth, angiogenesis and tissue remodeling by binding and sequestering various growth factors with distinct binding affinities, depending on the type of complex, LMW, MMW or HMW.
