Probable pathogen-recognition receptor involved in peripheral immune surveillance in liver. May mediate the endocytosis of pathogens which are subsequently degraded in lysosomal compartments. Is a receptor for ICAM3, probably by binding to mannose-like carbohydrates. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Ebolavirus. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Hepatitis C virus. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for HIV-1. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Human coronavirus 229E. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Human cytomegalovirus/HHV-5. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Influenzavirus. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for SARS-CoV. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for West-nile virus. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Japanese encephalitis virus. (Microbial infection) Acts as an attachment receptor for Marburg virus glycoprotein. (Microbial infection) Recognition of M.bovis by dendritic cells may occur partially via this molecule.

Human DC-SIGNR ELISA Kit (ab288183) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of DC-SIGNR protein in heparin plasma and serum samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Human DC-SIGNR with 3 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (Pre-coated 384 well Microplate SimpleStep ELISA® ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Example of human DC-SIGNR standard curve. Background-subtracted data values (mean +/- SD) are graphed.
Serum of five individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +- SD, n=2). The mean DC-SIGNR concentration was determined to be 871 pg/mL with a range of 450 - 1575 pg/mL.
Interpolated concentration of native DC-SIGNR was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows: serum 20% and plasma-heparin 40%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.
