Sandwich ELISA - Human Elastin ELISA Kit (AB239433)
Interpolated concentrations of native Elastin in human serum and plasma samples.
The concentrations of Elastin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the Elastin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 50%, plasma (citrate) 50%, plasma (EDTA) 50%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Elastin concentration was determined to be 1.78 ng/mL in neat serum, 2.01 ng/mL in neat plasma (citrate) and 2.26 ng/mL in neat plasma (EDTA).

Product details
Human Elastin ELISA Kit ab239433 is a rapid single-wash 90-min ELISA kit to measure Human Elastin in serum and plasma. This SimpleStep ELISA® sensitivity is 44 pg/mL.
How the assay works
Human Elastin SimpleStep ELISA® employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details.
Assay Specificity
This kit is designed for the quantification of human Elastin. The standard protein in this kit is an N-terminal fragment representing approximately 40% of the full-length mass of mature human Elastin. Native signal was detected in serum, plasma (citrate), and plasma (EDTA) sample types. Spiked protein experiments were used to validate serum, plasma (citrate), and plasma (EDTA) sample types. Cell culture supernatant, saliva, urine, milk, CSF, cell extract, and tissue extract samples have not been tested with this kit. This kit is incompatible with plasma (heparin) samples.
Human Elastin ELISA Kit ab239433 protocol summary:
1. Mix: add samples/standards to the wells together with the capture and detector antibody cocktail. Incubate for 1 hr at room temperature
2. Wash
3. Add TMB development solution - incubate for 10 min
4. Add stop solution
5. Read the results on a plate reader at 450nm
