Sandwich ELISA - Human ICAM5 ELISA Kit (AB314854)
Interpolated concentrations of human ICAM5 in serum, plasma (citrate), plasma (EDTA), and plasma (heparin)
Interpolated concentration of native ICAM5 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : Serum 25%, plasma (citrate) 25%, plasma (EDTA) 50%, plasma (heparin) 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Sandwich ELISA - Human ICAM5 ELISA Kit (AB314854)
Interpolated concentrations of ICAM5 in normal human serum donors
Serum of ten individual healthy human male donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean ICAM5 concentration was determined to be 4,397 pg/mL with a range of 2,267 – 6,953 pg/mL.

Sandwich ELISA - Human ICAM5 ELISA Kit (AB314854)
Interpolated concentrations of human ICAM5 in cell culture supernatants (SN) and CSF
Interpolated concentration of native ICAM5 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : U-87 MG cell culture supernatant 50%, SH-SY5Y cell culture supernatant 100%, and CSF 12.5%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS. No detectable signal was observed in cell culture media.

Product details
Human ICAM5 SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of ICAM5 protein in Serum, Cit Plasma, EDTA Plasma, Hep Plasma, Cell culture supernatant, Cerebral Spinal Fluid, Cell culture supernatant. Quantitate Human ICAM5 with 16 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Biological function summary
ICAM5 participates in neuron-neuron adhesion processes. It plays a significant role in the development and maintenance of synaptic structures in the nervous system. ICAM5 does not form a complex with other proteins in its functioning. It contributes to the organization and stabilization of dendritic spines which are important for synaptic plasticity and neural communication. This involvement highlights the importance of ICAM5 in neural development and synaptic function.
Pathways
ICAM5 integrates into signaling pathways related to neuronal development and synaptic plasticity. It is a part of the adhesion and cell recognition processes in neural systems. Through its involvement ICAM5 associates with pathways like the glutamatergic synapse pathway. Additionally ICAM5 shows a connection with proteins involved in membrane transport and neuronal signaling such as NMDARs (N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors) emphasizing its role in synaptic modulation.
