Sandwich ELISA - Human Kallikrein 7/KLK7 ELISA Kit (AB287175)
Interpolated concentrations of human Kallikrein 7/KLK7 in serum, plasma (citrate), plasma (heparin), plasma (EDTA), and HaCaT cell culture supernatant.
Interpolated concentration of native Kallikrein 7/KLK7 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 50% serum, plasma (citrate), plasma (heparin), and plasma (EDTA), and HaCaT cell culture supernatant. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Sandwich ELISA - Human Kallikrein 7/KLK7 ELISA Kit (AB287175)
Interpolated concentrations of Kallikrein 7/KLK7 in normal human serum donors.
Serum of ten individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Kallikrein 7/KLK7 concentration was determined to be 2,342.3 pg/mL with a range of 1393.1 – 4959.1 pg/mL.

Product details
Human Kallikrein 7/KLK7 ELISA kit (ab287175) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Kallikrein 7/KLK7 protein in human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Human Kallikrein 7/KLK7 with 5.3 pg/mL sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Biological function summary
KLK7 contributes to skin homeostasis and renewal processes. Its enzymatic action involves cleaving proteins like desmoglein and corneodesmosin which are part of the desmosomal complex. This activity promotes the natural shedding of skin cells a process important for skin turnover and repair. By regulating this balance KLK7 supports not only skin health but also its resilience against external stressors.
Pathways
KLK7 plays a significant role in processes such as the proteolytic cascade and inflammation. It is involved in the kallikrein-kinin system alongside proteins like KLK5 that modulate inflammatory responses and barrier function in skin. KLK7 also interacts with pathways related to tissue remodeling influencing processes like inflammation through cytokine activation.
