Sandwich ELISA - Human Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit (AB108878)
Lipoprotein A measured in biological fluids and cell culture supernatants showing quantity (ng) per mL of tested sample. Human serum, plasma and milk samples diluted 4000-32000 fold. Human urine and saliva diluted 2-8 fold. Mouse and rat samples diluted 10-100 fold. Cell supernatants diluted 1-10 fold.

How the assay works
Human Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit ab108878 employs a Lipoprotein A specific antibody has been precoated onto 96-well plates and blocked. Standards or test samples are added to the wells and subsequently a Lipoprotein A specific biotinylated detection antibody is added and then followed by washing with wash buffer. Streptavidin-Peroxidase Conjugate is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. TMB is then used to visualize Streptavidin-Peroxidase enzymatic reaction. TMB is catalyzed by Streptavidin-Peroxidase to produce a blue color product that changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of Lipoprotein A captured in plate.br>
Assay Specificity
This kit recognizes Lipoprotein A in plasma, serum, urine, milk, and CSF samples.
No significant cross-reactivity observed with Human Apo A1, Apo A2, Apo A4, Apo A5, Apo C1, Apo C2, Apo C3, Apo E, Apo H, and Apo M proteins.
Human Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit ab108878 protocol summary:
1. Add samples and standards to wells. Incubate at room temperature.
2. Wash each well and add biotin-antibody conjugate. Incubate at room temperature.
3. Wash each well and add Streptavidin Solution. Incubate at room temperature.
4. Add Chromogen Solution to each well. Incubate at room temperature.
5. Add Stop Solution to each well. Read immediately.
How other researchers are using Human Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit ab108878
Human Lipoprotein A ELISA Kit ab108878 has been used to measure Lipoprotein A in the blood as high levels correlate to increased risk factor for myocardial infarction (MI), coronary heart isease (CHD)(1), cerebrovascular disease (CVD), atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and stroke, and to measure serum biomarkers to determine the effect of compounds on reducing coronary heart disease (2).
