Sandwich ELISA - Human LOX1 ELISA Kit (AB212161)

Interpolated concentrations of native LOX1 in human Hela and placenta extract based on an 80 μg/mL and 500 μg/mL extract load.

The concentrations of LOX1 were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the LOX1 standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean LOX1 concentration was determined to be 927 pg/mL in Hela extract and 390 pg/mL in placenta extract.

Product details

Human LOX1 ELISA Kit (ab212161) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of LOX1 protein in cell culture extracts, cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, hep plasma, serum, and tissue extracts. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Human LOX1 with NULL NULL sensitivity.

SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:

- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips

A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

LOX1 is a receptor expressed on several cell types which mediate a variety of cellular processes. On vascular endothelial cell, LOX1 is involved in the internalization and degradation of oxidatively modified low density lipoprotein (oxLDL). In addition to this role, it is a receptor for HSP70 protein and is a part of antigen cross presentation in dendritic cells to native T-cells. It is also a receptor f advanced glycation end products, activated platelets, monocytes, apoptotic cells and Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.

Target data

Receptor that mediates the recognition, internalization and degradation of oxidatively modified low density lipoprotein (oxLDL) by vascular endothelial cells. OxLDL is a marker of atherosclerosis that induces vascular endothelial cell activation and dysfunction, resulting in pro-inflammatory responses, pro-oxidative conditions and apoptosis. Its association with oxLDL induces the activation of NF-kappa-B through an increased production of intracellular reactive oxygen and a variety of pro-atherogenic cellular responses including a reduction of nitric oxide (NO) release, monocyte adhesion and apoptosis. In addition to binding oxLDL, it acts as a receptor for the HSP70 protein involved in antigen cross-presentation to naive T-cells in dendritic cells, thereby participating in cell-mediated antigen cross-presentation. Also involved in inflammatory process, by acting as a leukocyte-adhesion molecule at the vascular interface in endotoxin-induced inflammation. Also acts as a receptor for advanced glycation end (AGE) products, activated platelets, monocytes, apoptotic cells and both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.. (Microbial infection) May serve as a receptor for adhesin A variant 3 (nadA) of N.meningitidis.
