Product details
The Human PPM1F/POPX2 ELISA Kit (ab283990) is designed for detection of PPM1F/POPX2 in human plasma and serum samples.
This assay employs a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique that measures human PPM1F in approximately 5 hours. A polyclonal antibody specific for human PPM1F has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate with removable strips. PPM1F in standards and samples is sandwiched by the immobilized antibody and a biotinylated polyclonal antibody specific for human PPM1F, which is recognized by a streptavidin-peroxidase (SP) conjugate. All unbound material is washed away and a peroxidase enzyme substrate is added. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Biological function summary
This protein phosphatase is instrumental in modulating signaling events related to cytoskeletal dynamics and stress responses. PPM1F does not operate in isolation but rather interacts with other proteins to form complexes that fine-tune its activity and stability. For instance PPM1F associates with components of the actin cytoskeleton and stress-related kinases influencing cellular movement and survival responses. Its ability to deactivate key kinases highlights its biological importance in maintaining cellular function.
Pathways
Recent research places PPM1F in mechanistic contexts related to the MAPK signaling and apoptosis pathways. It interacts closely with proteins like MAPKs and CAMKII to mediate responses to external stimuli influencing cellular proliferation and stress outcomes. The modulation of these pathways by PPM1F highlights its role in facilitating the balance between cell survival and apoptotic signaling. This phosphatase therefore has a significant regulatory function in cellular signaling networks.
