Product details

Abcam's Human STNF-R1 (soluble tumor necrosis factor receptor I) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human STNF-R1 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Human STNF-R1 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and STNF-R1 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human STNF-R1 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of STNF-R1 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Optimization may be required with urine samples.

Target data

Receptor for TNFSF2/TNF and homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The adapter molecule FADD recruits caspase-8 to the activated receptor. The resulting death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs caspase-8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) mediating apoptosis. Contributes to the induction of non-cytocidal TNF effects including anti-viral state and activation of the acid sphingomyelinase.
