Sandwich ELISA - Human SynCAM/CADM1 ELISA Kit (AB316889)
Interpolated concentration of native SynCAM/CADM1 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 25%, plasma (citrate) 12.5%, plasma (EDTA) 25%, and plasma (heparin) 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Product details
Human SynCAM/CADM1 SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of SynCAM/CADM1 protein in Serum, EDTA Plasma, Cit Plasma, Hep Plasma. Quantitate Human SynCAM/CADM1 with 14.525 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Biological function summary
SynCAM/CADM1 acts as a cell recognition molecule participating in the formation of synaptic connections in neural circuits. It is a component of a complex that regulates synaptic clustering and neural connectivity. In the nervous system SynCAM/CADM1 facilitates the initial axon-dendrite contact allowing efficient synaptic communication. Its expression and interaction affect the building of mature and functional synapses which are essential for cognitive processes.
Pathways
SynCAM/CADM1 integrates into synaptic development and cell signaling pathways. It interacts with scaffolding proteins like PSD-95 which stabilize the synaptic structure. The protein also participates in the Ras signaling pathway influencing cell growth and survival signals. Through its engagement in these pathways SynCAM/CADM1 plays a role in neural circuit plasticity and function maintaining proper communication between neurons.
