Recombinant human Tau-A proteins each ligated with a peptide containing a specific phosphorylated amino acid (non-phosphorylated Tau, Tau pT181, Tau pT217, Tau pT231 and Tau pS396) were tested for specificity (each at 76,800 pg/mL), and for interference (each at 9,600 pg/mL) with 4,800 pg/mL of recombinant Tau-A ligated with a peptide containing phosphorylated S199 (Tau pS199). The interpolated dilution-corrected values, expressed in % of input (for specificity) and in % of Tau pS199 control (for interference), are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).

Human Tau (phospho S199) SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Tau (phospho S199) protein in Serum, Cit Plasma, EDTA Plasma, Hep Plasma, Cell culture supernatant, Cerebral Spinal Fluid. Quantitate Human Tau (phospho S199) with 39.974 pg/ml sensitivity.

This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Target data

The protein expressed by the MAPT gene promotes microtubule assembly and stability and might be involved in establishing and maintaining neuronal polarity. Its C-terminus binds axonal microtubules, and the N-terminus binds neural plasma membrane components, suggesting that tau functions as a linker protein between the two. Axonal polarity is predetermined by MAPT localization within the neuronal cell's domain defined by the centrosome. The short isoforms allow cytoskeleton plasticity, whereas the longer isoforms may preferentially play a role in its stabilization.
