Sandwich ELISA - Human TIM 1 ELISA Kit (AB289703)
Interpolated concentrations of Human TIM 1 in Urine and JEG-3 cell culture supernatant.
Interpolated concentration of native TIM 1 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : Urine 50% and JEG-3 cell culture supernatant 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Product details
<p>Human TIM 1 ELISA Kit (ab289703) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Human TIM 1 in urine and cell culture supernatants samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate TIM 1 with 48.877 pg/ml sensitivity.</p>
<p>SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:</p>
<p>Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less</p><p>High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies</p>
<p>Fully validated in biological samples</p><p>96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips</p>
<p>A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.</p>

Biological function summary
The TIM 1 protein functions as a receptor involved in T cell activity modulation and innate immune response regulation. It is known to bind phosphatidylserine on apoptotic cells which fosters communication between dying cells and phagocytes. TIM 1 does not typically exist as part of a larger complex but its interactions with other molecules is important for its role in the immune system. The protein’s activity influences cytokine production and this can affect inflammation processes.
Pathways
TIM 1 is involved in key immune response pathways like the signaling pathways of T cells and the broader adaptive immune response. This protein has been linked with the enhancement of Th2 cytokine production impacting allergic response signaling. It interacts with related proteins like TIM 3 and TIM 4 which together contribute to the fine-tuning of immune responses. Understanding TIM 1 within these pathways helps in grasping its regulatory potential in T-cell mediated immunity.
