Interpolated concentrations of spiked human TNSF18/GITRL in serum, plasma-citrate, plasma-edta, plasma-heparin, and cell culture supernatant.

Recombinant TNSF18/GITRL was spiked into the following human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant samples and diluted in a 2-fold dilution series in Sample Diluent NS. Undiluted samples are 50% serum, 50% plasma-citrate, 50% plasma-EDTA, 50% plasma-heparin, and 50% cell culture supernatant. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).

Interpolated concentrations of TNSF18/GITRL in normal human serum donors.

Serum of ten individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +- SD, n=2). The mean TNSF18/GITRL concentration of detected samples was determined to be 21.7 pg/mL with a range of undetected – 38.2 pg/mL.

Target data

Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF18/AITR/GITR. Regulates T-cell responses. Can function as costimulator and lower the threshold for T-cell activation and T-cell proliferation. Important for interactions between activated T-lymphocytes and endothelial cells. Mediates activation of NF-kappa-B. Triggers increased phosphorylation of STAT1 and up-regulates expression of VCAM1 and ICAM1 (PubMed : 23892569). Promotes leukocyte adhesion to endothelial cells (PubMed : 23892569). Regulates migration of monocytes from the splenic reservoir to sites of inflammation (By similarity).
