Product details
Abcam's anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgG Human in vitro ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is designed for the accurate quantitative measurement of IgG class antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii in Human serum and plasma.
A 96-well plate has been precoated with Toxoplasma gondii antigens to bind cognate antibodies. Controls or test samples are added to the wells and incubated. Following washing, a horseradish peroxidase (HRP) labelled anti-Human IgG conjugate is added to the wells, which binds to the immobilized Toxoplasma gondii-specific antibodies. TMB is then catalyzed by the HRP to produce a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of Toxoplasma gondii IgG sample captured in plate.

Biological function summary
Toxoplasma gondii IgG helps mediate the immune response by binding to the surface antigens of the parasite aiding in its identification and destruction by immune cells. This interaction is facilitated by the high avidity of the IgG enhancing its ability to remain bound to Toxoplasma antigens under challenging conditions. Toxoplasma gondii IgG is not part of a larger protein complex but instead operates as a standalone molecule in the immune defense system.
Pathways
Toxoplasma gondii IgG operates within the adaptive immune pathway a critical component of immune system functioning. This pathway involves other proteins such as major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules and T-cell receptors which play roles in antigen presentation and cellular immune response. The interplay of these molecular components enables the immune system to effectively target and respond to Toxoplasma gondii.
