Sandwich ELISA - Human ULBP3 ELISA Kit (AB287176)
Interpolated concentrations of spiked human ULBP3 in serum and plasma (citrate).
Recombinant ULBP3 was spiked into the following human samples and diluted in a 2-fold dilution series in Sample Diluent NS. Undiluted samples are 50% serum and plasma citrate. The interpolated values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).

Sandwich ELISA - Human ULBP3 ELISA Kit (AB287176)
Interpolated concentrations of ULBP3 in normal human serum donors.
Serum of ten individual healthy human male donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +- SD, n=2). The mean ULBP3 concentration of detected samples was determined to be 31.06 pg/mL with a range of undetected– 46.35 pg/mL.

Product details
Human ULBP3 ELISA kit (ab287176) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Human ULBP3 protein in human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Human ULBP3 with 4.37 pg/mL sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Biological function summary
ULBP3 interacts with the activating receptor NKG2D to initiate immune responses against tumor cells or pathogen-infected cells. The binding of ULBP3 to NKG2D forms a part of the recognition process leading to the activation of NK cells and cytotoxic T cells enhancing their ability to destroy target cells. ULBP3 operates independently and not as part of a larger ligand complex making its interactions directly important for regulating immune function across different environments and conditions aiding in the maintenance of cellular homeostasis.
Pathways
ULBP3 participates integrally in immune signaling pathways like the NKG2D receptor-mediated pathway. Within this pathway its role in signaling enhances NK cell cytotoxicity and cytokine production. ULBP3 is related to other NKG2D ligands like MICA MICB and other ULBP molecules through this immune recognition pathway collectively contributing to immune defense mechanisms. These pathways form a critical element of the broader immune surveillance mechanism in the human body.
