Sandwich ELISA - Human Uteroglobin ELISA Kit (AB238266)
Interpolated concentrations of native Uteroglobin in human serum and plasma samples. The concentrations of Uteroglobin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the Uteroglobin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 1 : 100, plasma (citrate) 1 : 100, plasma (heparin) 1 : 100, and plasma (EDTA) 1 : 100. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Uteroglobin concentration was determined to be 13.2 ng/mL in serum, 14.5 ng/mL in plasma (citrate), 10.7 ng/ml in plasma (heparin), and 11.4 ng/ml in plasma (EDTA).

Sandwich ELISA - Human Uteroglobin ELISA Kit (AB238266)
Interpolated concentrations of native Uteroglobin in female human urine, saliva, and milk samples. The concentrations of Uteroglobin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the Uteroglobin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : urine (2.5%), saliva (1 : 2000), and milk (25%). The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Uteroglobin concentration was determined to be 5.4 ng/mL in urine, 279.8 ng/mL in saliva, and 419.2 pg/mL in milk.

Product details
Human Uteroglobin ELISA Kit (ab238266) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Uteroglobin protein in cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, hep plasma, milk, saliva, serum, and urine. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Human Uteroglobin with 1.4 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Biological function summary
Uteroglobin serves as a multifunctional secretory agent contributing to the regulation of inflammation and tissue remodeling. It does not form part of a larger complex but acts independently. By binding and inhibiting pro-inflammatory mediators like phospholipase A2 Uteroglobin reduces the production of arachidonic acid derivatives which are involved in inflammatory processes. Additionally it acts as a chemoattractant for certain immune cells further modulating immune responses.
Pathways
Uteroglobin integrates into the immune response and inflammation pathways. It indirectly interacts with proteins such as cytokines and chemokines influencing pathways like the arachidonic acid metabolism pathway and the leukocyte extravasation signaling pathway. These interactions reduce inflammatory response and regulate immune cell movement demonstrating its anti-inflammatory function.
