Sandwich ELISA - Monkey GM-CSF ELISA Kit (AB252361)
Example of monkey GM-CSF standard curve in Sample Diluent NS.
The concentrations of GM-CSF were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the GM-CSF standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 25%, plasma (citrate) 25%, plasma (EDTA) 25%, and plasma (heparin) 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).

Sandwich ELISA - Monkey GM-CSF ELISA Kit (AB252361)
Interpolated concentrations of native GM-CSF in Rhesus macaque PBMC (PMA-stimulated) cell culture supernatant.
The concentrations of GM-CSF were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the GM-CSF standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted sample is as follows : PBMC (PMA-stimulated) cell culture supernatant 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean GM-CSF concentration was determined to be 3726.5 pg/mL in PBMC (PMA-stimulated) cell culture supernatant. GM-CSF was undetectable in unstimulated PBMC cell culture supernatant.

Product details
Monkey GM-CSF ELISA Kit (ab252361) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of GM-CSF protein in cell culture media, cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, hep plasma, and serum. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Monkey GM-CSF with 8.45 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.

Biological function summary
The CSF2RA is integral in facilitating cellular communication. It belongs to the cytokine receptor family specifically binding the GM-CSF. This molecule triggers signaling cascades that are essential for the proliferation differentiation and survival of various blood cells. When GM-CSF binds to the receptor complex made of CD116 and CSF2RB it activates downstream pathways influencing these critical processes thereby ensuring proper bone marrow function and immune cell activity.
Pathways
CD116 participates in significant signal transduction cascades. It is involved in the JAK-STAT pathway which plays an important role in regulating immune responses and hematopoiesis. The engagement of GM-CSF with CD116 triggers the activation of JAK kinases followed by STAT protein phosphorylation. Another pathway linked with CD116 is the MAPK pathway which further mediates downstream signals that modulate cellular growth and differentiation integrating input from various activating signals.
