Chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T-helper cells and eosinophils. Causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. May activate several chemokine receptors including CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5. May also be an agonist of the G protein-coupled receptor GPR75. Together with GPR75, may play a role in neuron survival through activation of a downstream signaling pathway involving the PI3, Akt and MAP kinases. By activating GPR75 may also play a role in insulin secretion by islet cells.

Interpolated concentrations of monkey RANTES in serum in 96-well vs. 384-well plates.
Interpolated concentration of native RANTES was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations in 96-well vs. 384-well plates. Undiluted samples are 1:400 Rhesus Macaque serum. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Interpolated concentrations of Cynomolgus Macaque RANTES in treated and untreated PBMC supernatant.
Interpolated concentration of native RANTES was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows: treated Cynomolgus Macaque PBMC supernatant (50 ng/mL PMA + 1 ?g/mL ionomycin, 24 hrs) 1:100 and untreated Cynomolgus Macaque PBMC supernatant 1:2. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS. No detectable RANTES concentrations were measured in 100% cell culture media (RPMI1640 containing 10% fetal bovine serum).
