Mouse Bone Sialoprotein ELISA Kit (IBSP) is a single-wash 90-min Simplestep used to quantify Mouse Bone Sialoprotein (IBSP) with a sensitivity of 6 pg/ml. The assay uses a simple mix-wash-read protocol with just one incubation and one wash step.
- Colorimetric Sandwich ELISA - 450 nm readout : works on any standard plate reader
- Design your own immunoassay: we also offer the conjugation-ready antibody pair

Sandwich ELISA - Mouse Bone Sialoprotein ELISA Kit (IBSP) (AB279405)
Interpolated concentrations of native Bone Sialoprotein in mouse serum and plasma samples.
The concentrations of Bone Sialoprotein were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the Bone Sialoprotein standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 10%, plasma (citrate) 10%, plasma (heparin) 5% and plasma (EDTA) 10%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean Bone Sialoprotein concentration was determined to be 20.68 ng/mL in serum, 18.45 ng/mL in plasma (citrate) and 32.88 ng/mL in plasma (heparin), and 21.71 ng/mL in plasma (EDTA).

Product details
Mouse Bone Sialoprotein ELISA kit (ab279405) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Mouse Bone Sialoprotein protein in mouse serum and plasma samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse Bone Sialoprotein with 6 pg/mL sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.
Bone Sialoprotein, also known as IBSP, is a matrix protein that plays a role in mineralization of bone and other calcified structures. The exact function of this protein is currently under investigation. The immunogen with which the antibodies in this kit were raised is composed of the full-length mature protein. This protein is not homologous with other species; as such, it is not expected to cross-react.

Biological function summary
The protein influences the nucleation of hydroxyapatite crystals and helps regulate mineralization processes. It associates with collagenous and non-collagenous components in the bone and contributes to tissue integrity and repair. BSP functions as part of a complex matrix that orchestrates cell adhesion and signal transduction impacting osteoblast and osteoclast activity.
Pathways
Bone Sialoprotein interacts within the extracellular matrix organization pathway and the integrin signaling pathway. In the extracellular matrix pathway BSP plays a role together with proteins like osteopontin also from the SIBLING family to influence cellular adhesion. Through integrin signaling BSP modulates cell-surface interactions particularly affecting the behavior of osteoclasts and osteoblasts and their capacity to maintain bone homeostasis.
