Sandwich ELISA - Mouse c-Kit ELISA Kit (CD117) (AB203361)
Interpolated concentrations of c-Kit in mouse plasma (EDTA, heparin and citrate).
The concentrations of c-Kit were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the c-Kit standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2).

Sandwich ELISA - Mouse c-Kit ELISA Kit (CD117) (AB203361)
Interpolated concentrations of c-Kit in mouse brain and lung extract.
The concentrations of c-Kit were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the c-Kit standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Interpolated values of c-Kit are plotted based on an extract load of 200 μg/mL.

Product details
Mouse c-Kit ELISA Kit (CD117) (ab203361) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of c-Kit (CD117) protein in cell culture extracts, cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, edta plasma, hep plasma, serum, and tissue extracts. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse c-Kit (CD117) with 30 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.
c-Kit (CD117) is a member of the type III subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases and is the cellular receptor for stem cell factor. Kit is essential for cell survival and proliferation, stem cell maintenance, mast cell development, melanogenesis, cellular migration, hematopoiesis, and gametogenesis. Mutations in human c-Kit are associated with gastrointestional stromal tumors, piebaldism, acute myelogenous leukemia, and mast cell disease.

Biological function summary
C-Kit influences the function and survival of certain cell types. When it binds to its ligand stem cell factor (SCF) it activates receptor dimerization and phosphorylation triggering downstream signaling. C-Kit does not act alone; it often functions in a complex with other proteins to affect cellular outcomes. Its expression is vital for the maintenance of bone marrow hematopoietic cells and contributes to melanocyte and germ cell development.
Pathways
C-Kit interacts with the PI3K/AKT and RAS/ERK pathways through its kinase activity. These pathways play important roles in cell division differentiation and survival. The c-Abl and ACK2 proteins are closely related to c-Kit function within these signaling networks contributing to regulating cellular responses to external stimuli.
