Sandwich ELISA - Mouse GFAP ELISA Kit (AB233621)

Interpolated concentrations of native GFAP in mouse brain extract based on a 2.5 μg/mL extract load.

The concentrations of GFAP were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the GFAP standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean GFAP concentration was determined to be 2931.53 pg/mL in mouse brain extract.

Sandwich ELISA - Mouse GFAP ELISA Kit (AB233621)

Tissue specificity was assessed by comparison of raw signal in mouse brain, heart, and liver extracts.

Low (2.5 μg/ml) and high (50 μg/ml) concentrations of mouse heart and liver extracts were compared to the brain tissue Heart and liver extracts do not produce signal above background.

Product details

Mouse GFAP ELISA Kit ab233621 is a rapid single-wash 90-min ELISA kit to measure Mouse GFAP in tissue extracts. This SimpleStep ELISA® sensitivity is 8.7 pg/mL.

How the assay works
Mouse GFAP SimpleStep ELISA® employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details.

Assay Specificity
This kit recognizes both native and recombinant mouse GFAP protein in tissue extract samples only.

Mouse GFAP ELISA Kit ab233621 protocol summary:
1. Mix: add samples/standards to the wells together with the capture and detector antibody cocktail. Incubate for 1 hr at room temperature
2. Wash
3. Add TMB development solution - incubate for 10 min
4. Add stop solution
5. Read the results on a plate reader at 450nm

How other researchers are using Mouse GFAP ELISA Kit ab233621
Mouse GFAP ELISA Kit ab233621 has been used to develop a nanosensor to identify mild traumatic brain injury (1), to test resolvin D2 as a therapy for neuropathic pain and bone cancer pain (2), and to study clearance of microglial debris for CNS homeostasis (3).
