Interpolated concentrations of Heme Oxygenase 1 in mouse plasma (EDTA) plasma (heparin) and plasma (citrate).

The concentrations of Heme Oxygenase 1 were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the Heme Oxygenase 1 standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). The mean Heme Oxygenase 1 concentration was determined to be 5536 pg/mL in mouse plasma (EDTA) 6400 pg/mL in mouse plasma (heparin) and 5479 pg/mL in mouse plasma (Citrate).

The mean Heme Oxygenase 1 concentration was determined to be 10670 pg/mL in mouse serum and 6084 pg/mL in mouse splenocyte supernatant.

How the assay works

Mouse Heme Oxygenase 1 ELISA Kit, Chemiluminescent (ab327326) SimpleStep Ignite™ ELISA employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step during a 30 min only incubation, significantly reducing assay time. By utilizing a chemiluminscent detection method this improves the sensitivity and dynamic range when compared to traditional colorimetric ELISAs.

Catalyzes the oxidative cleavage of heme at the alpha-methene bridge carbon, released as carbon monoxide (CO), to generate biliverdin IXalpha, while releasing the central heme iron chelate as ferrous iron (By similarity) Affords protection against programmed cell death and this cytoprotective effect relies on its ability to catabolize free heme and prevent it from sensitizing cells to undergo apoptosis (By similarity)..
