The concentrations of IL-18 were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the IL-18 standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean IL-18 concentration was determined to be 1882 pg/mL in spleen extract.

How the assay works
Mouse IL-18 SimpleStep ELISA®employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Interleukin-18 (IL-18 or Interferon gamma-inducing factor) is a proinflammatory cytokine in the IL-1 superfamily. IL-18 has overlapping and synergistic biological function with IL-12. IL-18 is found in both intracellular and extracellular compartments. The antibodies in this kit were raised to the mature full-length sequence of mouse IL-18.
