Interpolated concentrations of native MAP2 in mouse brain tissue based on a 15 µg/mL extract load.

The concentrations of MAP2 were measured in duplicate and interpolated from the MAP2 standard curve and corrected for sample dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). The mean MAP2 concentration was determined to be 3632.84 pg/mL in mouse brain tissue extract.

How the assay works

Mouse MAP2 ELISA Kit, Chemiluminescent (ab326401) SimpleStep Ignite™ ELISA employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA^® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step during a 30 min only incubation, significantly reducing assay time. By utilizing a chemiluminscent detection method this improves the sensitivity and dynamic range when compared to traditional colorimetric ELISAs.

The exact function of MAP2 is unknown but MAPs may stabilize the microtubules against depolymerization. They also seem to have a stiffening effect on microtubules.
