Sandwich ELISA - Mouse OB Cadherin ELISA Kit (AB208346)
Interpolated concentrations of native OB-Cadherin in mouse plasma (heparin) and urine samples.
The concentrations of OB Cadherin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the OB Cadherin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. 1X diluted samples are as follows : plasma (heparin) 25%, and urine 20%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean OB Cadherin concentration was determined to be 1,343 pg/mL in plasma (heparin) and 1,000 pg/mL in urine.

Interpolated concentrations of native OB-Cadherin in mouse serum, plasma (citrate) and plasma (EDTA) samples.
The concentrations of OB Cadherin were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the OB Cadherin standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. 1X diluted samples are as follows : serum 25%, plasma (citrate) 25%, and plasma (EDTA) 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean OB Cadherin concentration was determined to be 3,771 pg/mL in serum, 827 pg/mL in plasma (citrate) and 1,172 pg/mL in plasma (EDTA).

Product details
Mouse OB Cadherin ELISA Kit (ab208346) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of OB Cadherin protein in cell culture extracts, cell culture supernatant, serum, tissue extracts, urine, and plasma. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse OB Cadherin with 7 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
- Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
- High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
- Fully validated in biological samples
- 96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (ab203359) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.
OB Cadherin (also known as Cadherin-11) is a member of the Cadherin family of calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. OB Cadherin is a single-pass transmembrane protein on the plasma membrane. The extracellular portion contains 5 cadherin domains that bind calcium and form homodimeric interactions.

Biological function summary
OB Cadherin plays an important role in tissue morphogenesis and remodeling. It is a part of the adherens junction complex which also includes catenins. This complex mediates cell contact and communication essential for structural integrity and signaling. OB Cadherin supports the proper organization and separation of cells within tissues impacting processes like bone development and wound healing. It acts as a mediator in mechanical signaling influencing cellular responses to mechanical stress.
Pathways
OB Cadherin participates in signaling pathways involved in cell adhesion and migration notably in the Wnt and BMP pathways. These pathways are essential for developmental processes and maintain tissue homeostasis. OB Cadherin interacts closely with proteins like beta-catenin playing a role in transcriptional regulation that influences cell fate decisions. Its function in these pathways demonstrates its critical role in regulating cellular activities tied to growth and differentiation.
