Interpolated concentrations of mouse Procollagen III N-terminal propeptide in serum, plasma (citrate), plasma (EDTA), and plasma (heparin). Interpolated concentration of native Procollagen III N-terminal propeptide was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 5% serum, 10% plasma (citrate), 5% plasma (EDTA), and 5% plasma (heparin). The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Biological function summary
This propeptide plays a significant role in the formation of the extracellular matrix. PIIINP is not part of a protein complex but accumulates during the conversion of procollagen into mature collagen fibers which later support tissue structure. Its presence is essential for proper collagen deposition and tissue remodeling. Through its involvement in collagen synthesis PIIINP helps maintain the structural integrity of connective tissues across various organs.
