Interpolated concentrations of native TIMP2 in Mouse serum and plasma samples.

The concentrations of TIMP2 were measured in duplicates, interpolated from the TIMP2 standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 1 : 200, plasma (heparin) 1 : 200, and plasma (citrate) 1 : 200. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean TIMP2 concentration was determined to be 519 ng/mL in serum, 548 ng/mL in plasma (heparin) and 448 ng/mL in plasma (citrate).

The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean TIMP2 concentration was determined to be 9.8 ng/mL in spleenocyte cell culture supernatant and 78.9 ng/mL in lung supernatant.

Mouse TIMP2 ELISA Kit (ab227893) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of TIMP2 protein in cell culture supernatant, cit plasma, hep plasma, and serum. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse TIMP2 with 21 pg/ml sensitivity.

SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. TIMP2 also known as Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 2 mechanistically inhibits the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). It binds to MMPs regulating the extracellular matrix's remodeling. The protein has a molecular mass of around 21 kDa. TIMP2 is expressed in various tissues including the brain liver and kidneys where it maintains a balance between matrix degradation and production.
