pan-HMR VEGFC ELISA Kit is a single-wash 90-min Simplestep used to quantify pan-HMR VEGFC with a sensitivity of 4.375 pg/ml. The assay uses a simple mix-wash-read protocol with just one incubation and one wash step.

Interpolated concentration of native VEGFC was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : human serum 25%, human plasma (citrate) 25%, human plasma (EDTA) 25%, human plasma (heparin) 25%, and mouse plasma (citrate) 12.5%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Interpolated concentrations of VEGFC in mouse serum 12.5%, mouse plasma (EDTA) 12.5%, rat serum 25%, rat plasma (citrate) 25%, rat plasma (EDTA) 25%, and rat plasma (heparin) 25% were below the detectable range.

Serum of ten individual healthy human male donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). The mean VEGFC concentration of detected samples was determined to be 53.4 pg/mL with a range of undetected – 88.8 pg/mL.

Undiluted samples are PC-3 cell supernatant 50%, HT-1080 cell supernatant 50%, and human urine 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values (to neat sample) are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

How the assay works
pan-HMR VEGFC SimpleStep ELISA®employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. Biological function summary
VEGFC contributes to the regulation of vascular and lymphatic endothelial cell functions. It is not known to be part of a larger protein complex but exerts its functions through interactions with receptors such as VEGFR-3. By promoting cell proliferation and migration VEGFC assists in the repair and regeneration of tissues. Its role in fluid balance is essential as it helps maintain tissue equilibrium and immune function.
Pathways
VEGFC is integral to the VEGF signaling and lymphatic vessel development pathways. Within these processes VEGFC works alongside other proteins such as VEGFA and VEGFB to modulate vascular permeability and vessel formation. The interaction between VEGFC and the VEGFR-3 receptor specifically mediates lymphatic endothelial cell activation and function linking it to vital physiological processes like inflammation and tissue repair.
