Product details

Abcam's Fractalkine Rat ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Rat Fractalkine in cell lysates and tissue lysates.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Rat Fractalkine coated on a 96- well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Fractalkine present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Rat Fractalkine antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Fractalkine bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

The standard is affinity purified.

CX3CL1 also known as fractalkine is a chemokine protein characterized mechanically by its dual function as both a chemoattractant and adhesion molecule. It exhibits a unique membrane-bound structure and can exist in a soluble form after proteolytic cleavage. The mass of CX3CL1 is approximately 42-45 kDa. This protein is highly expressed in endothelial cells neurons and tissues with substantial vascularization. Considerable interest surrounds the potential of CX3CL1 assessment in various studies often involving applications like fractalkine ELISA or assays on mouse models.

Chemokine that acts as a ligand for both CX3CR1 and integrins ITGAV : ITGB3 and ITGA4 : ITGB1. The CX3CR1-CX3CL1 signaling exerts distinct functions in different tissue compartments, such as immune response, inflammation, cell adhesion and chemotaxis. Regulates leukocyte adhesion and migration processes at the endothelium. Can activate integrins in both a CX3CR1-dependent and CX3CR1-independent manner. In the presence of CX3CR1, activates integrins by binding to the classical ligand-binding site (site 1) in integrins. In the absence of CX3CR1, binds to a second site (site 2) in integrins which is distinct from site 1 and enhances the binding of other integrin ligands to site 1.. Processed fractalkine.
