Interpolated concentrations of native KIM-1 in Rat serum plasma and urine samples.

The concentrations of KIM-1 were measured in duplicates interpolated from the KIM-1 standard curves and corrected for sample dilution. Undiluted samples are as follows : serum 25% plasma (citrate) 25% plasma (EDTA) 25% plasma (heparin) 12.5% and urine 25%. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD n=2). The mean KIM-1 concentration was determined to be 1435 pg/mL in serum 1332 pg/mL in plasma (citrate) 1444 pg/mL in plasma (EDTA) 1726 pg/mL in plasma (heparin) and 2005 pg/mL in urine.

How the assay works

Rat TIM 1 (KIM-1) ELISA Kit, Chemiluminescent (ab326300) SimpleStep Ignite™ ELISA employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step during a 30 min only incubation, significantly reducing assay time. By utilizing a chemiluminscent detection method this improves the sensitivity and dynamic range when compared to traditional colorimetric ELISAs.

Target data

Phosphatidylserine receptor that plays an important functional role in regulatory B-cell homeostasis including generation, expansion and suppressor functions (By similarity). As P-selectin/SELPLG ligand, plays a specialized role in activated but not naive T-cell trafficking during inflammatory responses. Controls thereby T-cell accumulation in the inflamed central nervous system (CNS) and the induction of autoimmune disease (By similarity). Also regulates expression of various anti-inflammatory cytokines and co-inhibitory ligands including IL10. Acts as a regulator of T-cell proliferation (By similarity). Confers phagocytic ability on injured kidney epithelial cells, allowing them to bind to and internalize apoptotic bodies and necrotic debris following kidney injury (PubMed : 18414680). The ectodomain binds to the surface of apoptotic kidney epithelial cells via phosphatidylserine and oxidized phospholipids exposed on the cell membrane of the apoptotic cells (By similarity). HAVCR1-expressing cells are also capable of phagocytosing Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria (By similarity).
