Interpolated concentrations of VILIP1 in human brain stem extract, rat brain extract, mouse brain extract, and HepG2 cell extract.

Interpolated concentration of native VILIP1 was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are as follows : human brain stem extract 10 μg/mL, rat brain extract 2.5 μg/mL, mouse brain extract 4 μg/mL, and HepG2 cell extract 10 μg/mL. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in 1X Cell Extraction Buffer PTR.

Visinin-like protein 1 commonly abbreviated as VILIP1 is a neuronal calcium sensor protein. It has a mass of about 22 kDa and consists of four EF-hand motifs that bind calcium ions. VILIP1 is primarily expressed in the central nervous system including regions such as the hippocampus and cerebral cortex. This protein interacts with membranes and other intracellular molecular targets in response to changes in calcium levels influencing cellular activities associated with calcium signaling.
