Product details

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

The pair can be used in variety of assays and platforms including but not limited to:

  • Sandwich ELISA
  • FRET/TR-FRET/HTRF
  • Meso Scale Discovery® (MSD®)
  • Bead-based assays
  • AlphaLISA®/AlphaScreen®
  • DELFIA® immunoassays
  • Simoa® and Single Molecule Counting (SMC™) immunoassays
  • Multiplex

Our antibody pairs are supplied in a carrier-free format that is conjugation-ready:

  • Buffer free of BSA, sodium azide, and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency.
  • Concentration of ~1 mg/ml as measured by the protein A280 method.

We can label antibodies for you: get in touch today to discuss how we can help accelerate your assay development with custom conjugation services.

Pairs are screened in biological samples, including plasma and serum, to ensure specificity in complex samples.

Please note:

The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization in sandwich ELISA. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type.

The range provided for this antibody pair is based on initial sandwich ELISA validation data using recombinant protein. Performance and range of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay, including standard protein selection.

We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibodies in other assays.

Antibody properties:

Capture antibody: recombinant rabbit monoclonal (unconjugated) – 100 µg

Detector antibody: recombinant rabbit monoclonal (unconjugated) - 100 µg

Concentration: ~1 mg/ml

Storage buffer: 100% PBS

Form: Liquid

Isotype: IgG

Recombinant monoclonal antibodies offer several advantages including:

- High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility

- Improved sensitivity and specificity

- Long-term security of supply

- Animal-free production

CXCL17 also known as DMC is a chemokine involved in immune cell recruitment. This protein has a molecular mass of about 17 kDa. Researchers found CXCL17 expressed in epithelial tissues including the respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. Its expression pattern indicates a role in mucosal immunity where it may attract immune cells to sites requiring defense against pathogens.
Biological function summary

CXCL17 functions to recruit monocytes and dendritic cells to regions where they are needed. It does not appear to form part of a larger protein complex. Its ability to attract specific immune cells suggests it has an important role in organizing immune responses particularly in tissues constantly exposed to external environmental factors. Additionally its presence in mucosal tissues supports the hypothesis that it might participate in the first line of defense against environmental pathogens.

Pathways

CXCL17 fits within the broader chemokine signaling pathways promoting cell migration and adhesion. This signaling integrates with inflammatory pathways such as the NF-kB pathway which regulates the expression of various other chemokines and cytokines. Researchers have noted relationships between CXCL17 and other chemokines like CXCL12 and CXCL8 indicating potential synergistic or regulatory interactions in immune response modulations.

CXCL17 associates with conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). These connections suggest a role for CXCL17 in chronic inflammatory and fibrotic pathologies of the lungs. In the context of these diseases the protein interacts with inflammatory mediators such as IL-6 contributing to the persistence and exacerbation of inflammation observed in these conditions. Understanding CXCL17's involvement in these diseases might aid in developing targeted therapies to modulate immune function and inflammation.

Target data

Chemokine that acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells (PubMed : 16455961, PubMed : 23115081). Plays a role in angiogenesis and possibly in the development of tumors (PubMed : 16989774, PubMed : 23115081). Acts as an anti-inflammatory in the stomach (PubMed : 23115081). May play a role in the innate defense against infections (PubMed : 17307946). Activates the C-X-C chemokine receptor GPR35 to induce a rapid and transient rise in the level of intracellular calcium ions (PubMed : 25411203).. 4-Cys CXCL17. Seems to exhibit much higher chemoattractant potency on monocytes and macrophages than 6-Cys CXCL17.
