Product details

Human ProGRP31-98 Antibody Pair is a matched pair of unconjugated recombinant rabbit monoclonal capture and detection antibodies used to quantify Human ProGRP31-98 in sandwich ELISAs and many other pair-based applications.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

The pair can be used in variety of assays and platforms including but not limited to:

  • Sandwich ELISA
  • FRET/TR-FRET/HTRF
  • Meso Scale Discovery® (MSD®)
  • Bead-based assays
  • AlphaLISA®/AlphaScreen®
  • DELFIA® immunoassays
  • Simoa® and Single Molecule Counting (SMC™) immunoassays
  • Multiplex

Our antibody pairs are supplied in a carrier-free format that is conjugation-ready:

  • Buffer free of BSA, sodium azide, and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency.
  • Concentration of ~1 mg/ml as measured by the protein A280 method.

We can label antibodies for you: get in touch today to discuss how we can help accelerate your assay development with custom conjugation services.

Pairs are screened in biological samples, including plasma and serum, to ensure specificity in complex samples.

Please note:

The recommended antibody orientation is based on internal optimization in sandwich ELISA. Antibody orientation is assay dependent and needs to be optimized for each assay type.

The range provided for this antibody pair is based on initial sandwich ELISA validation data using recombinant protein. Performance and range of the antibody pair will depend on the specific characteristics of your assay, including standard protein selection.

We guarantee the product works in sandwich ELISA, but we do not guarantee the sensitivity or dynamic range of the antibodies in other assays.

Supplementary information

Pro-GRP (31-98) also known as Progastrin-releasing peptide is a peptide with a mass of approximately 8 kDa. It serves as a precursor for gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP). It undergoes cleavage to form the active GRP peptide. GRP belongs to the bombesin-like peptide family and you can primarily find it expressed in neuroendocrine tissues particularly in the gastrointestinal tract and lungs. This peptide plays an important role in various cellular signaling processes by binding to its receptors.
Biological function summary

The gastrin-releasing peptide influences the release of important hormones such as gastrin. It acts on the gastrointestinal system contributing to the stimulation of gastric acid secretion. Additionally GRP has a role in neurotransmission. It forms part of a signaling system that operates in neuroendocrine communication where it works with other neuropeptides to regulate physiological processes.

Pathways

The gastrin-releasing peptide impacts several signaling pathways including the gastrin secretion pathway and the bombesin receptor pathway. It interacts with receptors on target cells to induce cellular responses including growth and secretory functions. Related proteins like the bombesin receptor subtype 3 are involved in these pathways modulating different biochemical reactions that contribute to digestion and central nervous system signaling.

Gastrin-releasing peptide has associations with small cell lung cancer and gastrointestinal disorders. Elevated levels of Pro-GRP (31-98) can serve as a biomarker for small cell lung cancer aiding in diagnosis and monitoring treatment responses. The interplay of GRP with the bombesin receptor and related pathways like those involving gastrin underlines its importance in certain tumorigenic processes and dysregulation in gastrointestinal functions.

Target data

Stimulates the release of gastrin and other gastrointestinal hormones (By similarity). Contributes to the perception of prurient stimuli and to the transmission of itch signals in the spinal cord that promote scratching behavior (By similarity). Contributes primarily to nonhistaminergic itch sensation (By similarity). In one study, shown to act in the amygdala as part of an inhibitory network which inhibits memory specifically related to learned fear (By similarity). In another study, shown to act on vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP)-expressing cells in the auditory cortex, most likely via extrasynaptic diffusion from local and long-range sources, to mediate disinhibition of glutamatergic cells via VIP cell-specific GRPR signaling which leads to enhanced auditory fear memories (By similarity). Contributes to the regulation of food intake (By similarity). Inhibits voltage-gated sodium channels but enhances voltage-gated potassium channels in hippocampal neurons (By similarity). Induces sighing by acting directly on the pre-Botzinger complex, a cluster of several thousand neurons in the ventrolateral medulla responsible for inspiration during respiratory activity (By similarity).. Neuromedin-C. Induces an itch response through activation of receptors present on mast cells, triggering mast cell degranulation.
