Immunoprecipitation - Anti-5HT7 Receptor antibody [EPR28676-1] (AB317565)
5HT7 Receptor was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg Rat brain tissue lysate with ab317565 at 1/30 dilution (2ug in 0.35mg lysates). Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab317565 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP secondary antibody(HRP)(ab131366) was used at 1/5000 dilution.
Lane 1 : Rat brain tissue lysate
Lane 2 : ab317565 IP in Rat brain tissue lysate
Lane 3 : Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab317565 in rat brain tissue lysate
Samples are non-boiled as boiling may cause protein aggregation.

Biological function summary
The 5-HT7 receptor contributes to multiple physiological processes including the regulation of circadian rhythms mood and cognitive functions. It operates as part of complex signaling networks within the central nervous system and other systems throughout the body. The receptor plays a significant role in modulating neurotransmitter release and neuronal excitability. Through these mechanisms it influences various behavioral and physiological outputs that are critical for the maintenance of homeostasis.
Pathways
The 5-HT7 receptor is a pivotal component of serotoninergic signaling especially influencing the cAMP signaling cascade. This pathway interacts with proteins like adenylate cyclase and cAMP-dependent protein kinase impacting functions such as learning and memory. The receptor's modulation of cAMP levels places it within important pathways that affect cell signaling and metabolism including the broader serotonergic system which involves other serotonin receptors such as 5-HT1A and 5-HT2A.
