Biological function summary
ACAP2 influences cellular processes by regulating actin cytoskeleton remodeling and endocytosis. It is part of a complex that interacts with proteins like phosphatidylinositol 45-bisphosphate which helps localize ACAP2 to specific cellular membranes. The protein's ability to bind and hydrolyze GTP enables changes in cell shape and movement contributing to cellular migration and morphological adjustments.
Pathways
ACAP2 participates in the endocytic pathway which is important for internalizing substances into the cell. It is also involved in the signaling pathway related to the actin cytoskeleton impacting cell motility. In these pathways ACAP2 interacts with proteins such as Arf6 facilitating its function as a regulator of endocytosis and actin dynamics.
