Flow Cytometry (Intracellular) - Anti-ACAP2 antibody [EPR15721] - BSA and Azide free (AB232615)

Intracellular flow cytometric analysis of Jurkat (Human T cell leukemia cell line from peripheral blood) cells (paraformaldehyde-fixed, 2%)labeling ACAP2 with ab191424 at 1/270 dilution (red) or a rabbit IgG (negative) (green), followed by Goat anti rabbit IgG (FITC) secondary at 1/150 dilution.

This data was developed using the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation containing PBS, BSA, glycerol, and sodium azide (ab191424).

Product details

ab232615 is the carrier-free version of ab191424.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

ACAP2 also known as ArfGAP with coiled-coil ankyrin repeat and PH domain-containing protein 2 plays a role in cell signaling and membrane trafficking. It has a molecular mass of around 90 kDa and is expressed in various tissues including the brain and kidney. ACAP2 acts as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (Arf6) a member of the Arf family which is important in vesicle formation in cellular processes.
Biological function summary

ACAP2 influences cellular processes by regulating actin cytoskeleton remodeling and endocytosis. It is part of a complex that interacts with proteins like phosphatidylinositol 45-bisphosphate which helps localize ACAP2 to specific cellular membranes. The protein's ability to bind and hydrolyze GTP enables changes in cell shape and movement contributing to cellular migration and morphological adjustments.

Pathways

ACAP2 participates in the endocytic pathway which is important for internalizing substances into the cell. It is also involved in the signaling pathway related to the actin cytoskeleton impacting cell motility. In these pathways ACAP2 interacts with proteins such as Arf6 facilitating its function as a regulator of endocytosis and actin dynamics.

ACAP2 has been linked to cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Dysregulation of ACAP2 and its associated proteins like Arf6 can lead to changes in cell adhesion and motility processes often altered in tumor progression. Additionally aberrant ACAP2 function can interfere with normal neurological processes possibly contributing to the pathology of neurodegenerative disorders.
