Immunoprecipitation - Anti-ADAM9 antibody (AB226459)
ADAM9 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (prepared using RIPA buffer; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab226459 at 6 μg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab226459 at 0.4 μg/ml.
Lane 1 : ab226459 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2 : Control IgG IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Detection : Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 3 seconds.

Biological function summary
ADAM9 participates in numerous essential cellular functions particularly in cell surface protein shedding and proteolytic activities. It is part of the protease complex involved in shedding epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) ligands. This action impacts cell signaling pathways that contribute to processes such as cell proliferation migration and invasion.
Pathways
Many studies link ADAM9 to pathways involving cell signal modulation and extracellular matrix remodeling. It participates in the EGFR signaling pathway significantly affecting cell behavior. ADAM9 interacts with other proteins such as integrins which facilitate changes in cell dynamics and communication.
