Product details

ab249451 is the carrier-free version of ab168355.

Patented technology
Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMAb® patents.

What are the advantages of a recombinant monoclonal antibody?
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

  • - High batch-to-batch consistency and reproducibility
  • - Improved sensitivity and specificity
  • - Long-term security of supply
  • - Animal-free batch production

For more information, read more on recombinant antibodies.

Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.

Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Supplementary information

AE binding protein 1 also known as AEBP1 functions mechanically as a transcriptional repressor. It interacts with other proteins to alter gene expression. The protein has a molecular mass of approximately 150 kDa. Researchers find AEBP1 in various tissues but expression is high in adipose tissue and the uterus. The protein's role as a repressor links to its ability to modulate the activities of certain transcription factors influencing cellular processes.
Biological function summary

AEBP1 plays a role in regulating the expression of genes important for adipogenesis and inflammation. It acts as part of a transcriptional regulation complex that controls genes driving fat cell development and lipid metabolism. Beyond adipose tissue AEBP1 also influences inflammatory responses which may connect to its function in modulating the immune system. The protein's ability to interact with intracellular pathways points to its involvement in cellular functions critical for maintaining homeostasis.

Pathways

AEBP1 integrates into the PPARγ signaling pathway. This pathway is important for adipocyte differentiation and lipid homeostasis. AEBP1's interaction with PPARγ connects it to the regulation of adipogenesis and metabolism. AEBP1 also participates indirectly in pathways modulating inflammatory responses. Through these connections AEBP1 influences proteins like C/EBPα which are key regulators of adipocyte commitment and growth.

AEBP1 has associations with obesity and inflammatory disorders. Its role in adipogenesis and inflammation links AEBP1 to obesity-related conditions where altered expression may contribute to weight gain and metabolic imbalances. Inflammatory disorders also involve AEBP1 as its modulation of immune-related factors can exacerbate or mitigate inflammation. Researchers recognize connections between AEBP1 and other proteins involved in these diseases such as NF-κB where AEBP1's regulation of inflammatory pathways could impact the progression of inflammatory diseases.

Target data

Isoform 1. As a positive regulator of collagen fibrillogenesis, it is probably involved in the organization and remodeling of the extracellular matrix.. Isoform 2. May positively regulate MAP-kinase activity in adipocytes, leading to enhanced adipocyte proliferation and reduced adipocyte differentiation. May also positively regulate NF-kappa-B activity in macrophages by promoting the phosphorylation and subsequent degradation of I-kappa-B-alpha (NFKBIA), leading to enhanced macrophage inflammatory responsiveness. Can act as a transcriptional repressor.
