Function

Participates in at least several B-cell activation processes as well as of other cell types (PubMed:3083412). It is a costimulator of DNA-synthesis. It induces the expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells (PubMed:3498301). It enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1 (PubMed:3498301). It also regulates the expression of the low affinity Fc receptor for IgE (CD23) on both lymphocytes and monocytes. Positively regulates IL31RA expression in macrophages (PubMed:25847241). Stimulates autophagy in dendritic cells by interfering with mTORC1 signaling and through the induction of RUFY4 (PubMed:26416964).

    Flow cytometric analysis of 2% paraformaldehyde fixed 0.1% Tween-20 permeabilized Mouse splenocytes treated with cell stimulation cocktail (80nM PMA+1.34uM Ionomycin+10.6uM Brefeldin A+2uM Monensin) for 6 hours cells labelling IL4 with ab306570 at 1/50 dilution (1ug)/ Right (Red) compared with a Rabbit IgG monoclonal [EPR25A] - Isotype Control (Alexa Fluor® 488) (ab199091) / Left isotype control.

    Live cells were stained with anti-CD4 conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 647. Fixed with 2% PFA for 10 min followed by intracellularly staining with rabbit IgG or ab306570.
