Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Alexa Fluor® 555 Anti-SCGB3A2 antibody [EPR11463] (AB217228)
ab217228 staining SCGB3A2 in HeLa cells. The cells were fixed with 4% formaldehyde (10 min), permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 for 5 minutes and then blocked with 1% BSA/10% normal goat serum/0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1h. The cells were then incubated overnight at +4°C with ab217228 at 1/100 dilution (pseudocolored in green) and ab195884, Rat monoclonal to Tubulin (Alexa Fluor® 647), at 1/250 dilution (shown in red). Nuclear DNA was labelled with DAPI (shown in blue).
Image was taken with a confocal microscope (Leica-Microsystems, TCS SP8).

Biological function summary
SCGB3A2 acts as an anti-inflammatory agent that modulates immune cell activity and cytokine signaling within the lungs. It does not form known protein complexes but interacts with other immune mediators to reduce inflammation. Furthermore SCGB3A2 has roles in cell proliferation and repair mechanisms especially in response to lung injury. Its interaction with various cytokines supports tissue regeneration and homeostasis making it important in maintaining lung function.
Pathways
SCGB3A2 interacts in immune regulatory pathways significant in lung tissue. Notably it participates in pathways related to the suppression of inflammatory cytokine production and has a working relationship with proteins such as IL-10 and TGF-beta that mitigate excessive immune reactions. These interactions exhibit roles in the regulation of immune responses and the promotion of tissue repair making SCGB3A2 part of important biological processes that protect lung integrity.
